After a disappointing 2020 season for the New England Patriots, they select #15 overall in the upcoming NFL Draft. The Patriots had many needs this season, but many of those needs were filled through free agency. The Patriots are now in a situation where they have to, you guessed it, draft a quarterback.

With the 15. The team thinks the New England Patriots will pick quarterback Justin Fields from Ohio State University.

Justin Fields began the draft process as the second quarterback in almost every trade. Now Fields has quickly dropped to fifth place, and I honestly don’t understand why. Fields is a top player with great accuracy, power and touch. Combine that with his spirit and he could be great at the next level.

Here’s a perfect example of the throws he can make. It was his first year at the University of Georgia. Look at this balloon:

The numbers don’t lie either. In 2019, Fields threw for 3,273 yards, 41 touchdowns and just three interceptions after transferring to Ohio State. Yes, three! He also had a completion rate of 67.2 percent and ran for 484 yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games. The fields were elite fields in 2019.

Fields was also incredible in 2020, playing nearly half the games he did in 2019. After starting the Big Ten Conference football season late because of COWID-19, Fields threw for 2,100 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions in just eight games. He also had an impressive 70.2% completion percentage, accompanied by 383 yards on the ground and five touchdowns on the ground. But despite the impressive numbers, despite Clemson’s impressive upside in 2020, Fields was demoted for not being able to make throws after his first read.

For those who were in that camp, he was better at throws after the first read than any other quarterback in that draft:

Justin Fields struggles with his first read, but he did better than any quarterback in this draft.

For those who still doubt it, check out his rant about his ability to learn.

In short, Fields had the highest score of any athlete on this test. 130 is incredible, while a score of 100 is considered good. He scored more points than Patrick Mahomes. That means he can learn incredibly quickly, and that’s what Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are looking for.

Justin Fields has all the qualities of an NFL quarterback. If he goes to the Patriots, watch out. In case people are still doubting his hand, check this out:

Fields’ biggest weaknesses have to do with his decision-making skills. But based on the stats above, he shouldn’t be downgraded so badly for a few mistakes. Do you think Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance and Mac Jones haven’t made their mistakes too? I’m sure that’s the case.

For example, in the Indiana game, he took no dump in the flat on the Indiana blitz. As a result, he was excluded from the game. But the game didn’t end there. What if you don’t count the hot part of the game in case of a blitz? Maybe it was just an example of the defense being better than the offense. You know what, it happens. Although his obvious weakness is a questionable decision here and there and he is considered the most coachable quarterback in this draft, the Patriots can coach Fields into an elite quarterback.

Final thoughts

Fields, finally, is a phenomenal prospect. He has all the qualities of an elite NFL quarterback. If people are worried about Ohio State’s quarterback record, it’s not with Fields. He is very different from those who came before him at Ohio State.

If the Pauls and Patriots married, it would be an ideal situation for both. Fields’ ability to learn will allow him to fit perfectly into New England’s system, which likes to plant and adjust its game. Fields, every quarterback in this draft, has the ability to run the offense the way Belichick and Josh McDaniels want to.
