Could the Bears Target Texas QB Sam Ehlinger in the Draft?

With names like Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson on the transfer market, the team should take an aggressive approach to the position this season. This could include a review of the position in the project. Whether or not they bring in a first caliber player, the team needs to add some young talent at that position. When Matt Nagy talked about what he looks for in a quarterback, he referred to versatility. Ehlinger, who was named a true freshman starter, was thrown to the Wolves early in his college career. He responded well to pressure and showed a versatile style in the air and on the ground. He became a four-year starter and an annual Heisman candidate for the Texas Longhorns. Surrounded by questionable talent and high expectations, Ehlinger made good on his promise by carrying the Texas offense annually. Having been together for four seasons, you can expect admiration and occasional tension between the two. But by the end of his career at Texas, Herman had nothing but praise for the young signal-caller.
