The Rheingeist is known for its variety of beers, ciders and other creations. According to the Brewers Association, Rangelist will be the 26th largest craft brewery in the United States by April 2020.
Rangelist opened on the 29th. June 2013 opened its doors to the public for the first time. Since 2020, Rhinegeist has been distributed in Ohio, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
The Rheingeist operates a brewery, brewhouse and production facility in the bustling Cincinnati area above the Rhine. It is located in the front bottling line of the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. Morelane is still active and known for making Little Kings Cream Ale and other beverages.
- Beer: Truth (IPA), Shining (Fruited Sour Ale), Cloud Harvest (IPA unfiltered in rotation).
- Fruity ale: Bubbles (Rose Ale), Slengria (Pomegranate, Blueberry and Lime Ale), Wowie (Pineapple and Passion Fruit Ale), Zango (Apple, Mango and Tangerine Ale)
- Get out of the way! Zappy (hard cider), Bloom (hard cider with pear and elderflower), Beezy (hard cider with honey), Snug (hard cider with spices).
Surprisingly, their hit camp, Cheetah, is not currently on the list.
Rhinegeist has partnered with the city’s largest beer distributor, Windy City Distributing, which is part of the Reyes Beer Division’s distribution network.
We’ve been watching the success of Rangelist Brewery for years, Bob Collins, President of Windy City Distributing, told Brew Bound Bob Collins. Rangeist’s commitment to quality and innovation is impressive. We look forward to working with them to bring their brands to the Chicago market.
For me personally, Rhinegeist’s entry into the Chicago market is one of the biggest exciting events, says Matt Steinke, vice president of sales for Rhinegeist and a Chicago native.
This city offers some of the best local breweries while also offering some of the best brands in the country. We are more than happy to bring Rhinegeist’s diverse portfolio to such a diverse city and are honored to be part of this wonderful beer scene. Bob Collins and the Windy City Distributing team have done a great job and will continue to do so for years to come. I grew up in Chicago, my family lives here, as do my best friends. It will be very special for them to be able to buy our beers in IL for the first time, Steinke told Brew Bound.
Rangest is known for having everything from APIs to lagers, porters, lagers, kolsches, ciders and aged beers on tap. In their personal experience, they can get them all out of the park. I went to the University of Cincinnati and worked a lot at Rangelist. Whoever I met, beer drinker or not, the spirit of the Rhine had something first-rate to offer.
If you’re ever in Cincinnati, stop by the rooftop. There are few in Cincinnati compared to the hundreds in Chicago, but they are by far the best in the Cincinnati area.
