Chicagoans can finally get their fill of baseball as the Cubs and Sox open their respective seasons this weekend. This Friday, Chicago’s biggest sports fans will be split between the Cubs’ home game against the Dodgers and the White Sox’s home game against the Yankees. Of course, there’s plenty of other sports to be enjoyed this weekend, including the WNBA’s Windy City Dream’s showdown with the Seattle Storm on Friday night and the Stanley Cup Playoff rematch between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings on Saturday afternoon.

Events

With the reopening of Navy Pier, a ten-minute fireworks display will be held every Saturday in May starting at 9pm. The exhibition is free and you can view it from any outdoor area of the pier.
